Lot 221 Thor Heyerdahl

Norwegian ethnographer and adventurer (1914–2002) best known for the Kon-Tiki expedition, during which he tested the theory of early contact between South America and Polynesia by successfully sailing a raft across the Pacific Ocean. ALS, one page, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, February 25, 1975. Brief note to a collector. In full: “This is a sample of my handwriting to replace whatever you lost in the fire.” In fine condition, with central horizontal and vertical fold. Accompanied by one of Heyerdahl’s personal business cards.
